Belgium Shepherd – Tervueren (York Van de Hoge Lare - proprietario Tripnaux Fabienne)

Of medium size, males height of ideally 62cm to the garret while females ideally 58cm to the garret, small and triangular ears positioned high on the skull and brought erected. The back is firm and straight, its structure is strong but elegant. Weight of +- 30kg. Long coat of +-5cm. The coat is longer and dense around the neck, the chest, the legs and the tail. The tail covers well the thighs at the back; a part called “Culotte". The coat, called red carbon, is of red color with black tips, with a thick undercoat. His muzzle is black up to the eyes (eyes inclusive), this part is therefore normally called “mask”. The Tervueren is a vigilant shepherd dog, alert and very clever for these reasons finds a lot of followers amongst Belgium and French people. Very fond of its owners and family is an excellent guard and defense dog. The Tervueren is quite good in all activities: trailing, competition, obedience and agility. It is an ideal companion for a sporting owner that loves long walks. |
