Belgium Shepherd – Laekenois

Of medium size, males height of ideally 62cm to the garret while females ideally 58cm to the garret, small and triangular ears positioned high on the skull and brought erected. The back is firm and straight, it is a dog of strong structure and of coarse appearance but it has a beautiful silhouette. Its weight is of 30kg. The Laekenois is a vigilant and attentive dog with all the same qualities of the others Belgium Shepherd such as: courage, intelligence, docility and an open and well-balanced character. Those who know this animal well affirm that it reacts with much more “Judgment” than others Belgium Shepherds. It has a generous coat, which is coarse and dry and slightly curled, with a thick undercoat that acts as a protection from a variable Belgium climate. The coat is of a deep tawny carbon color with black tips and his muzzle is black up to the eyes (eyes inclusive); the same black mask of the Malinois and the Tervueren. It is not a dog that makes itself notice however, whomever had a chance to know well this animal remains faithful to this excellent guard and defense dog. |
